The Madrid City Council’s Green Assessment and Review Service, also known as SERVER, is undoubtedly our flagship project and the one we are most proud of. This innovative and revolutionary service was launched in 2018 and at the beginning of 2025 we signed the renewal of the contract, expanded in its objectives and scope, and strengthened in the inspection tasks

Mature tree of the monitoring population

TECNIGRAL’s work within the UTE SERVER (formed together with Valoriza, San José and El Ejidillo) is focused on the consultancy area of the service, that is, on the inspection, detection and resolution of risk situations in the municipal tree grove, as well as on the analysis and modeling of all the information obtained.

On a day-to-day basis, we monitor and follow up individually a population of more than 350,000 trees consisting of all mature and old specimens in the city. In addition, we respond quickly to emergency situations that may affect the total tree population (more than 800,000 specimens), we review all incidents that occur in the city caused by trees and we propose effective solutions to protect both the green heritage and the citizens.

SERVER was born with the vocation of being a national reference in urban arboriculture.

We have a highly qualified team in this service, our inspection staff is made up of expert arborists, specifically trained for this work.

SERVER was born with the vocation of being a national reference in urban arboriculture, and our professionals not only inspect and diagnose, but also investigate and learn from each action.

Data collection and exploitation is the heart 💚 of SERVER: we record key information such as the behavior of different species, defects associated with failures, affected parts, interaction with infrastructures and environmental conditions (planting area, slope, meteorology, seasonality, etc.).

This information is processed using statistical and Big Data tools, laying the foundations for more efficient and evidence-based management. Over the years, we have performed nearly 700,000 inspections and analyzed more than 14,000 incidents, generating an extraordinary volume of data that helps us extract valuable lessons to continuously improve our service.

The main objective of the service is to maintain as many large, mature trees in full canopy with as little risk as possible.”

Thanks to the Madrid City Council for the trust placed in us and to our joint venture with Valoriza – SANJOSE MEDIOAMBIENTE – EL EJIDILLO VIVEROS INTEGRALES, S.L. for being trusted partners in this pioneering venture in Spain, which has become a great reference in the sector.
